Car and City: Dec. 2021 registrations of Wuling Hongguang MINIEV
Shanghai (ZXZC)- In December 2021, the insurance registrations of the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, a mini-sized all-electric car model of SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), stood at 45,976 units, leaping 32.3% year on year, while also jumping 19.7% month on month, according to the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC).
The Hongguang MINIEV was still the best-selling locally-made new energy passenger vehicle (NEPV) model in China by monthly insurance volume, outnumbering the runner-up Model Y by 5,734 units. It accounted for 9.5% of China’s total Dec. registrations of homemade NEPVs, which refer to BEVs, PHEVs (including REEVs), and FCVs.
By the end of Dec. 2021, cumulative registrations of the Hongguang MINIEV amounted to 506,071 units, 390,474 of which were registered last year.
With 1,039 units registered last month, Zhengzhou, the capital of Central China's Henan province, was still the No.1 city by monthly registrations of the Hongguang MINIEV.
There were a total of eight cities whose Dec. registrations of the Hongguang MINIEV topped 700 units, five of which were from Henan province.
On the top 20 cities list, four spots were occupied by provincial capital cities, namely, Zhengzhou, Shijiazhuang, Nanning and Hangzhou, two fewer than that of the previous month.
None of the four first-tier cities— Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen— entered the top 20 cities list in Dec. 2021.
