First prototype vehicle of HYCAN 007 rolls off the production line

Shanghai (ZXZC)- The first prototype vehicle of the HYCAN 007, the first production model under the umbrella of HYCAN, has recently rolled off the production line at GAC NE's Guangzhou-based intelligent and ecological auto plant, less than eight months after the concept model was unveiled.

HYCAN, the BEV brand backed by GAC NIO New Energy Automotive Co., launched the “007” all-electric SUV on December 27, 2019. The new model is now available for pre-order with a starting price of RMB260,000, and is set to hit the market and be delivered to consumers in April 2020.

The automaker released several days ago some significant parameters about three of five variants—the BASE, the PLUS and the TOP—that are of particular concern to buyers.

Powered by a 73kWh battery pack, the BASE has a NEDC-rated range of 523km and can sprint from 0-100km/h in 8.2 seconds. It can be charged from 30% to 80% of its battery capacity in 33 minutes using a fast-charging mode and in 6.2 hours under a slow-charging mode.

The PLUS and the TOP feature a large of portion of power performances in common. Both of them carry a 93kWh battery pack, which offers the vehicle a NEDC-rated range of up to 643km. Besides, they do 0-100km/h acceleration in 7.9 seconds, and from 30% to 80% of battery capacity can be charged within 7.9 second using fast-charging mode.

The three versions are all outfitted with CATL's NCM811 battery and the vehicle-to-grid system.

Engineered to be a human friendly full-electric SUV, the “007” features quite a few smart technologies, such as the Level 2 plus intelligent driving functions, the smart voice assistant dubbed “Little CAN”, the “flying shuttle” display composed of two 12.3-inch screens and a 10.1-inch screen, the UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) system and the vital sign monitoring device.
