Shanghai (ZXZC)- In May 2017, Geely Auto Group unveiled the BEV specialized PMA (Pure electric Modular Architecture) platform. Recently, a local media outlet revealed some information about the first PMA-based BEV model coded named “DC1E”.

The vehicle measures 4,850mm long, 1,980mm wide and 1,530mm tall with a wheelbase spanning 2,999mm, positioned in the same class where the Tesla Model S sits.

The new model is said to be mass produced from June, 2021, according the local report. It will be offered in two kinds of drivetrain—the rear-wheel drive and the four-wheel drive. Besides, the AWD version can accelerate from zero to 100km/h within 4.5 seconds, while the RWD version can do it within 7.5 seconds. The maximum speed is at 180km/h.

Regarding the driving cost, the report said the “DC1E” BEV consumes 13.8-15.7kWh of electricity per 100km. Based on the electricity unit price in Beijing, a car owner should pay around RMB7 for driving 100km.

The PMA platform is jointly developed by Geely and Volvo. In the future, all of its data will be open to the public for free. Geely and Lynk&Co would launch more than ten new models based on the PMA platform, Geely previously said, adding that the pure electric models based on the PMA platform mainly included A0-segment crossovers, A/B-segment sedans and B-segment SUVs. Since “Geometry” was born, the PMA-based models will be developed under the young BEV brand.
