DPCA, Dongfeng Yueda Kia see positive sales return in April

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Dongfeng Motor Corporation delivered 328,700 vehicles in April, increasing 10.73% year on year. For the first four months, the group sold a total of 1,295,300 vehicles with a year-on-year climb of 4.09%, according to the data released on the company's official Wechat account.

In April, the deliveries of both PVs and CVs showed two-digit year-on-year growth of 10.76% and 10.56%, with 270,500 units and 58,200 units delivered respectively. With respect to the year-to-date sales, the group handed over 1,090,100 PVs, 205,100 CVs and 4,600 NEVs, growing 3.66%, 6.42% and 4.54% respectively from a year ago.

Dongfeng Nissan boasted a year-on-year sales rise of 13.45% to 91,100 units in April. Thanks to the outstanding performances of the X-Trail and the Sylphy, the company delivered 339,900 vehicles in total in the first four months, going up 13% over the previous year, also taking the championship by cumulative sales among all subsidiaries.

It seems that the engine issue of the CR-V still had negative effect on Dongfeng Honda's sales. Last month, the automaker suffered a year-on-year sales downturn of 11.26% to 54,400 units. Besides, its cumulative sales in 2018 reached 210,500 units heretofore.

The sales of both Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company (DPCA) and Dongfeng Yueda Kia picked up to 27,500 units and 31,800 units in April, leaping 23.87% and 105.59% respectively. Their cumulative sales also realized year-on-year growth of 7% and 24% to 109,400 units and 115,300 units.

Another Sino-French joint venture Donfeng Renault delivered 6,500 units in the past April, up 6.56% from a year ago. Even though it has achieved a year-on-year growth of 4% in cumulative sales with 27,400 vehicles handed over, there is still a long way to reach the annual target of 100,000 units.

The premium brand Dongfeng Infiniti sold 2,200 units in April, which made its cumulative sales reached to 6,200 units. Reportedly, the all-new QX50 will go on sale in the near future.

Dongfeng Sokon (DFSK) handed over 145,500 vehicles from January to April, edging down 2%. Meanwhile, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor posted sales of 15,300 units in April and 76,700 units in the first four months.

In April, Dongfeng Venucia witnessed a slight year-on-year drop of 3.42% to 11,300 units. However, the company sported a year-on-year sales leap of 31% in cumulative sales to 56,400 units. 

Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Company saw a positive return to 7,100 units last month. In late April, the automaker, joining hands with Baidu Duer Business Unit and the Chinese telematics product and service provider PATEO, unveiled the Dongfeng Fengshen WindLink 3.0, an AI-based in-care terminal system, and the concept model the Dongfeng eπ at Auto China 2018.
