Shanghai (ZXZC)- EV startup BYTON on June 13 officially opened its design center in Shanghai and unveiled the interior photos of its first production model BYTON M-Byte.

The EV maker previously said the production version of the M-Byte is slated to debut in mid-2019 with mass-production kicking off at the end of the year.

According to the published photos, the dashboard features a new wraparound design with air conditioning vents, gear lever and other physical buttons located in the center. The most eye-catching thing is the 48-inch-wide curved display with three areas for content. BYTON calls the massive display SED (Shared Experience Display) which can show vehicle and driving information and offer various content options in an intuitive way.

Besides, a 7-inch driver touch screen will be at the center of the steering wheel, which is just above the full-sized airbag. The production model also features an 8-inch BYTON touch pad between the driver and the front passenger seats. Both two displays are main interfaces for drivers to interact with the SED.

Additionally, the production M-Byte's UI/UX hardware, featuring white icons and dark blue background, provides abundant shared screen space to capture and display a variety of digital contents—navigation, music, video, photos, files, contacts, and so on.

BYTON disclosed that the production model will be offered in five and eight color options for the interior and the exterior respectively to meet different consumers' demands.

The volume production M-Byte will provide users with two powertrain variants. The rear-wheel-drive version can output up to 200kW and 400N·m of torque peak, while the all-wheel drive one has two electric motors at the front and rear axles with a combined output of 350kW and torque peak of 710N·m.
