GWM completes 29.17% of 2018 target with cumulative sales over 330,000 units
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Great Wall Motor (GWM) sported a year-on-year sales growth of 11.79% with 81,797 units delivered in April, while dropping 7.31% month on month. Meanwhile, the automaker delivered a total of 338,420 units in the first four months, edging down 3.39% over the previous year, according to the sales data GWM released on May 8. Up to now, GWM has completed 29.17% of its annual sales target 1.16 million units in 2018.
In April, its SUV deliveries totaled 68,194 units with a year-on-year growth of 9.78%. Haval SUV sales reached 55,055 units in April, falling 11.37% year on year and declining 8.08% month on month. Apart from the Haval H9, the other Haval SUV models’ sales all showed year-on-year downturn to varying degrees.
The sales of the Haval H6 reached 34,014 units in April, not only falling 6.47% year on year, but also declining 11.32% month on month. Besides, the April deliveries of the Haval H2 plunged 54.91% from a year ago and slumped 27.72% over the last month to 7,566 units. Since the Haval H4 hit the market in March, its deliveries reached 5,084 units in April, skyrocketing 255.77% over the previous month. In addition, the company's poorest-selling model was the Haval H8, who suffered a year-on-year plummet of 64.59% to only 199 units.
With respect to WEY, the deliveries of the VV5 and VV7 totaled 13,139 units in April, falling 7.01% from the previous month. At Auto China 2018, GWM launched the WEY VV6 which is positioned between the VV5 and VV7. The all-new SUV model is expected to go on sale in the third quarter this year at price ranging from RMB 150,000 to RMB 200,000.
What's more, the deliveries of the Great Wall C30 nosedived 47.76% year on year and dropped 19.07% month on month to 641 units in April. The automaker also delivered 12,962 units of the Wingle pickup model in the same month, surging 31.94% from a year ago, while edging down 3.48% month on month.
