The monthly deliveries of the Xpeng P7 sports sedan reached 3,710 units last month, climbing month by month for three straight months. As of Jan. 2021, cumulative deliveries of the Xpeng P7 amounted to 18,772 units.

The automaker delivered 2,305 Xpeng G3 SUVs during the same month, a year-on-year surge of 118% and the highest-ever figure for the past eighteen months.

Xpeng Motors said it made significant headways last month in both product R&D and financing. In early Jan., the company formed a partnership with Livox, a leading manufacturer of LiDAR equipment, to deploy the latter's automotive-grade LiDAR technology in Xpeng’s 2021 production vehicles.

On Jan. 11, Xpeng Motors announced it signed a strategic cooperation agreement with five domestic commercial banks, pursuant to which it would secure a credit line of RMB12.8 billion ($1.981 billion) with an extensive range of credit facilities.

The EV maker on Jan. 26 shipped a major over-the-air (OTA) upgrade for its P7 sedan consumers in China, delivering a new version of Xpeng's operating system (OS), Xmart OS 2.5.0.

The new OS system will bring over 40 new functions and 200 plus optimized features to P7's consumers, involving multiple modules like autonomous driving assistance, full-scenarios voice assistance, smart audio and music cockpit and in-car App ecosystem.
