Li Auto announces January delivery update, establishment of R&D center in Shanghai
Beijing (ZXZC)- Li Auto delivered 5,379 vehicles in January, a year-on-year increase of 355.8%, the company announced on Tuesday. By the end of January, 2021, the startup’s cumulative deliveries reached 38,976 vehicles.
In December, the delivery volume of the company set a new record-high with 6,126 vehicles delivered. For the whole year of 2020, Li Auto delivered a total of 32,624 vehicles.
Currently, the company only has one model for sale, namely the Li ONE, an extended-range electric vehicle model with an NEDC range of 800 kilometers. It also has the plan to develop battery electric vehicle, but no specific timeline has been set yet.

As of January 31, 2021, Li Auto had 60 retail stores covering 47 cities, as well as 121 servicing centers and Li Auto-authorized body and paint shops in 89 cities. As the company forges ahead with plans to meet the robust demand for the Li ONE, it will continue to strengthen its direct sales and servicing network and deepen market penetration.
Li Auto also announced the establishment of a new research and development center in Shanghai, which will be dedicated to developing cutting-edge electric vehicle technologies, including high-voltage platforms, ultra-fast charging technologies, autonomous driving technologies, next-generation intelligent cockpits. The new center has already started recruiting, and expects to ultimately house over 2,000 staff in the future.
In December, 2020, Li Auto announced the pricing of its underwritten follow-on offering of 47,000,000 American depositary shares at a public offering price of US$29.00 per ADS. At that time, the company said that the net proceeds will be used for the research and development of next-generation electric vehicle technologies, the next BEV platform and future car models, and autonomous driving technologies and solutions.
