Geely Emgrand GL PHEV presale starts April 28, priced from RMB148,800
Shanghai (ZXZC)- The Geely Emgrand GL PHEV presale officially began on April 28 with its two variants priced at RMB148,800 and RMB158,800 respectively after subsidy. The new model is expected to hit the market in the second quarter of the year, competing with such models as the BYD Qin Pro.
The PHEV retains the overall design language of the existing Emgrand GL, while some fresh elements can still be noticed, such as the blue trims on the lower edge of the signature “expanding cosmos” grille and the “HYBRID PLUG-IN” mark at car doors. The charging port is located on the left-front fender. Besides, the new PHEV model adopts the all-new black logo at the front face.
At the rear end, its PHEV essence is characterized by the blue trims around the exhaust pipes and the blue letter of “L” from the nameplate “Emgrand GL”.
As to the inside, a specific area in front of the electronic gear lever is saved for mobile phone wireless charging. Apart from the full speed range ACC (adaptive cruise control), AEB (autonomous emergency braking), FCW (forward collision warning) and Bosch's Generation 9 of ESP®, which are already used in the outgoing model, the PHEV also carries such niceties as 360-degree holographic display and E-call emergency alert system.
The Geely Emgrand GL PHEV is equipped with a 1.5TD+7DCTH plug-in hybrid system as same as that of the Borui GE, churning out a combined power of 190kW and a combined peak up to 415N·m. The 0-100km/h sprint can be done within 7.28 seconds. Under the all-electric mode, the vehicle will have a range of 66km and its battery capacity can be fully charged within only 1.5 hours.
