The video, rapidly broadcasting on China's social media Sina Weibo with the hashtag "Tesla self-ignites", showed that a lot of white smoke emerging from beneath a Tesla Model S and then burst into flames, which even covered the whole lens.

Tesla said via its official Weibo account that it has sent a team to the spot to investigate this matter and no casualty happened when its statement was released.

Before the latest incident, the U.S. media have reported several Tesla car burning accidents. In February, a Tesla owner was killed in a fiery crash in Davie, Florida, and a day later local emergency officials were still struggling with the car’s damaged battery pack that repeatedly reignited.

Still in Florida, a Tesla Model S got a severe crash and caught fire in last May, killing two teenagers and hurting the third one. In March, 2018, a driver of a Model X was died after his electric SUV collided with a median barrier on Highway 101 in Mountain View, California and was subsequently struck by two other vehicles. The trouble battery pack was reignited five days later.

However, the aforesaid accidents all took place after car crashes not in parked status.
