Hongqi, Bentley show possibility in future cooperation at Auto China 2018
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Adrian Hallmark, Chairman and CEO of Bentley visited Hongqi's stand at Auto China 2018, together with other senior executives. They showed great interest in the Hongqi L5, the concept, Hongqi's first SUV, the E-HS3 and an intelligent driving cabin. Especially, they stayed in L5 cabin for a long time. During the visit, they also communicated with FAW chairman Xu Liuping and other senior executives.
Moreover, Xu Liuping and his team also visited Bentley's stand. Adrian Hallmark demonstrated more details about Bentley models to Xu Liuqing. From the photos, Adrian Hallmark and Xu Liuping had a pleasant talk with each other, which may mean more than admiring each other's models.
Cooperation is one of the possibilities. Hongqi can not only learn from Bentley in R&D and technology, but also can promote brand power, if it can establish partnership with the world-renowned ultra-luxury auto brand.
The Chinese market is and will be very crucial to Bentley Motors, according to Adrian Hallmark. He also added that Bentley will launch hybrid and pure electric vehicle versions for all of its models by 2025. Similar to Bentley, Xu Liuping also stated that Hongqi will focus on NEVs in the future. This similar judgment of the future auto market may be the basis of their cooperation.
On Apr. 20, FAW and BYTON signed a frame agreement on strategic cooperation and investment in Beijing. In addition, FAW also signed cooperation agreement with Baidu, Huawei, Tencent and China Unicom in the area of intelligent and connected vehicles. In mobility area, FAW had signed strategic cooperation with Didi as well as Shouqi Limousine and Chauffeur previously.
A more diversified ecology is the foundation for a company's sustainable development and also plays a crucial role in the future, said Xu Liuping. He also addressed that Hongqi should not only keep eyes on products, but also focus on upstream and downstream industries.
