China's new energy vehicle (NEV) sales in June were 665,000 units, up 25.1 percent year-on-year and up 14.66 percent from May, according to the CPCA.
Battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales in June were 449,000 units, up 6.1 percent year-on-year and up 15.72 percent from May.

Tesla's pattern is to produce cars for export in the first half of the quarter and for the local market in the second half. Its Shanghai factory exported 44.67 percent fewer cars in June than in May, but about 20 times as many as it did in the same period last year, when it was 968 units.
In the first half of the year, Tesla sold 476,539 China-made vehicles, up 61.67 percent from a year earlier.

At Tesla's Shanghai plant, secrecy is currently high on the Model 3's production floor, but production line tuning is almost complete, local media outlet Jiemian said on July 7, citing an employee of a third-party supplier working at the plant.
Currently, prototypes of the revamped Model 3 are being tested on the factory's roads over the weekend, with further refinements being made to the production line, the employee said.
On July 7, Tesla increased referral incentives for the Model 3 and Model Y in China to boost sales of the two locally produced models.
Customers who buy a Model 3 or Model Y on the recommendation of another Tesla owner will receive a cash bonus of RMB 3,500 ($480), while the referrer will be rewarded with 7,000 points.
