The HiPhi Y will be priced in the RMB 400,000-500,000 range and will be the least expensive of Human Horizons' models, previous reports have implied.

The HiPhi Y will be available in single-motor and dual-motor versions, with the single-motor version having a maximum motor power of 247 kW, and its dual-motor version having an additional front motor with a maximum power of 124 kW.

The battery supplier for the dual-motor version and one single-motor version of the model is CATL, and the battery supplier for the other single-motor version is BYD's battery division, FinDreams.

Human Horizons launched the HiPhi X, the first model of the HiPhi brand, in October 2020, with deliveries starting in May 2021.

The HiPhi X starts at RMB 570,000 ($83,500) for the six-seat version and up to RMB 800,000 for the four-seat version.

In August 2022, Human Horizons officially launched its second model under the HiPhi brand, the HiPhi Z. The model is available in five-seat and four-seat versions with starting prices of RMB 610,000 and 630,000 respectively, with deliveries starting at the end of January.

Human Horizons has previously announced delivery figures in some months, but they were all below 1,000 units.

In the past few months, it has not announced deliveries, although according to China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC), HiPhi X delivered 4,349 vehicles in 2022, bringing cumulative deliveries to 8,586 units.

On January 13, tech media outlet LatePost cited multiple sources as saying that Human Horizons will launch a five-seat SUV in the second quarter, priced in the RMB 400,000-500,000 range.

The model will be Human Horizons' third production vehicle and its lowest-priced one, the report said.

Human Horizons' new vehicle is aimed at potential Porsche Macan consumers and will have advanced features including rear-wheel steering, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter, adding that it will be equipped with Hesai Technology's LiDARs, Nvidia's Orin-X chips.

Human Horizons officially launches 2nd model HiPhi Z, starting at around $88,800
