Global EV battery market share in Nov: CATL 40.9%, BYD 15.6%

CATL's installed power battery volume from January to November was 165.7 GWh, ranking first with a 37.1 percent market share.

Chinese power battery giant CATL increased its global share in November, while BYD's share decreased slightly, according to the latest data.

The global electric vehicle battery installed base in November 2022 was 57.2 GWh, up nearly 170 percent year-on-year, according to data released by South Korean market research firm SNE Research on January 4.

CATL installed 23.4 GWh in November, up 83.4 percent year-on-year, and ranked first with a 40.9 percent market share, up from a 37.6 percent share in October.

BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) installed 8.9 GWh in November, up 147.6 percent year-on-year, and ranked second with a 15.6 percent share, down slightly from 16.2 percent in October.

South Korea's LG Energy Solution installed 6.8 GWh in November, up 28 percent year-on-year, and ranked third with an 11.9 percent market share.

Japan's Panasonic was fourth with a 5.8 percent market share, South Korea's Samsung SDI was fifth with a 5.3 percent market share, and SK On was sixth with a 4.4 percent market share.

China's CALB, Gotion High-tech, Sunwoda, and Eve Energy ranked seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth, respectively, with 3.6 percent, 2.5 percent, 1.8 percent, and 1.4 percent shares in November.

The global installed base of electric vehicle batteries from January to November 2022 was 446.0 GWh, up 74.7 percent year-on-year.

CATL's installed power battery volume from January to November was 165.7 GWh, up 101.8 percent year-on-year, and ranked first with a 37.1 percent market share.

BYD and LG Energy Solution ranked second and third with 13.6 percent and 12.3 percent shares from January to November, respectively.
