For the full year 2022, GAC Aion sold 271,156 units, up 126 percent year-on-year.

GAC Aion sold 30,007 vehicles in December, up 107 percent year-on-year and up 4.32 percent from November, figures released today showed.

For the full year 2022, GAC Aion sold 271,156 units, up 126 percent year-on-year.

GAC Aion general manager Gu Huinan said at a briefing on the first day of the Guangzhou auto show on December 30 that the company has a conservative sales target of 500,000 units in 2023, but will work to reach 600,000.

By 2030, GAC Aion's sales will exceed 1.5 million units, making it the world's leading premium smart electric vehicle brand, he said at the time.

GAC Aion will launch at least two new models each year and will accelerate its internationalization strategy, Gu said.

The company expects to go public in late 2023 or early 2024, he said.

GAC Aion was founded on July 28, 2017, and the company began independent operations on November 20, 2020, with the Aion LX Plus, Aion V Plus, Aion S Plus, Aion S and Aion Y models currently on sale.

On September 15, 2022, GAC Aion unveiled its new premium brand, Hyper, and its first model, the Hyper SSR supercar.

GAC Aion said at the time that the model was the fastest accelerating car on the planet, and that it would begin production and delivery in October 2023.

On December 30, GAC Aion officially let its second model of the Hyper brand, the Hyper GT, debut at the Guangzhou auto show and began accepting reservations.

The Hyper GT is an all-electric mid-to-large-size coupe based on GAC Aion's AEP 3.0 platform.

The car has a wind resistance coefficient of just 0.19 Cd, the lowest of any production car in the world, GAC Aion claimed.
