Li Auto delivers record 21,233 vehicles in Dec
Deliveries of Li L9 and Li L8 both exceeded 10,000 units in December. Li Auto delivered 46,319 vehicles in the fourth quarter, up 31.51 percent year-on-year.
Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) delivered 21,233 vehicles in December, another single-month delivery record, according to data released by the company today.
This represents a 50.73 percent increase over the 14,087 vehicles delivered in the same month last year and a 41.23 percent increase over the 15,034 vehicles delivered in November.
The figure brings Li Auto's deliveries to 46,319 units in the fourth quarter, up 31.51 percent year-on-year and 74.63 percent from the third quarter.
The company gave guidance of 45,000 to 48,000 deliveries and revenue guidance of RMB 16.51 billion to RMB 17.61 billion for the fourth quarter when it announced its third-quarter earnings on December 9.
For the full year 2022, Li Auto delivered 133,246 vehicles, up 47.25 percent from 90,491 vehicles in 2021.
As of December 31, 2022, Li Auto's cumulative deliveries since inception were 257,334 vehicles.
"We set another monthly record in December with 21,233 deliveries and became the fastest emerging new energy automaker in China to surpass the 20,000 monthly delivery mark," said Shen Yanan, co-founder of Li Auto.
Deliveries of the Li L9 and Li L8 both exceeded 10,000 units in December, Shen said, adding that both models strengthen Li Auto's market position in the RMB 300,000 ($43,500) to 500,000 price range.
As of December 31, 2022, Li Auto had 288 retail stores in 121 cities, as well as 318 service centers and Li Auto-authorized body and paint stores operating in 223 cities.
Notably, Li Auto announced on December 9 that Shen has tendered his resignation as president and director of the company in order to devote more time to his personal affairs, effective January 1, 2023.
Shen is also resigning from his positions at Li Auto's subsidiaries and consolidated affiliated entities, with his last day at the company expected to be around the end of June 2023 to ensure a smooth transition, Li Auto's previous statement said.
Li Auto is currently selling two models -- the Li L9 and Li L8 -- both of which are extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), which are plug-in hybrids.
The company will host the launch of the Li L7 on February 8, 2023, with show cars and cars for test drives arriving at Li Auto's retail centers beginning February 9, it announced on Weibo on December 30.
The Li L7 is Li Auto's first five-seater, measuring 5,050 mm long, 1,995 mm wide, 1,750 mm high and with a wheelbase of 3,005 mm, Li Auto said.
