Shanghai (ZXZC)- The spy shots of the Geely Emgrand GL HEV's test mule were exposed in recent days. The new HEV model is expected to go on sale next summer, according to local media.

The Geely Emgrand GL HEV displays a striking resemblance to the PHEV version unveiled before. However, we can still find out that there is no charging port located in the left front fender despite a heavy camouflage, which is different from the PHEV version. Besides, the blue hubs indicate that the vehicle is driven by a hybrid powertrain.

Inside, the HEV model looks highly similar to the existing fuel burning version, in addition to an electronic gear lever. It features a well-design interior arrangement which is especially characterized by a three-spoke flat bottomed steering wheel and a large-sized display in the center console.

The new model is expected to carry a hybrid power system including a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine. Other power details have not been disclosed yet.

The “Blue Geely” initiative powered by a NEV lineup consisting of such models as the Emgrand EV, the Emgrand GSe and the Borui GE seems to acquire a preliminary achievement. In November, a total of 10,575 NEVs were sold by the automaker.
