The Z9GT, with nearly 1, 000 horsepower, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds, Denza previously said.

Denza, BYD's premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, will start pre-sales of the Z9GT in 12 days' time, with the new model's official launch expected by the end of the year.

Denza will hold a pre-sale event of the Z9GT on August 20, the brand announced on Weibo today.

Denza didn't mention anything more and the pre-sale price of the Z9GT is expected to be announced on August 20.

The Denza Z9GT has already entered a regulatory catalog published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in mid-April and made its real-life debut at the Beijing auto show in late April.

The model is the first in Denza's Z series, which will be sedans, with GT standing for Grand Tourer, Denza previously said.

Denza was founded in 2010 as a joint venture between BYD and Daimler, each holding a 50 percent stake at the time. In February 2022, the Daimler brand was rebranded as Mercedes-Benz. BYD increased its stake in Denza to 90 percent in 2022.

The first model of the rebranded Denza is the D9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), and the other two models are the N7 and N8 SUVs (sport utility vehicle) of the N series.

The Denza Z9GT has a length, width and height of 5,180 mm, 1,990 mm, 1,500/1,480 mm and a wheelbase of 3,125 mm, according to the previous regulatory filing.

The car will be based on BYD's e3 technology, and the powertrain includes three electric motors with peak power of 230 kW, 240 kW and 240 kW.

With up to nearly 1,000 horsepower, the model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in less than three seconds, Denza previously said.

Denza unveiled details of the Z9GT's interior early last month, showing that it has three screens in the front, including a horizontal center console, as well as a dashboard screen and a front passenger seat screen.

It has an on-board refrigerator in both the front and rear, a feature increasingly valued by carmakers in China's highly competitive electric vehicle (EV) market.

Denza delivered 10,340 vehicles in July, down 7.23 percent year-on-year and down 15.76 percent from June, according to data it released earlier this month.

In the January-July period, Denza delivered 69,905 vehicles, up 2.96 percent year-on-year.
