BYD has so far offered seven models in more than 20 countries in Europe.

BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has opened its first dealership in Poland as the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker continues to expand its presence in Europe.

The store, located in Poland's capital city of Warsaw, opened on August 6 and is a joint effort between BYD and Cichy-Zasada, Poland's largest automotive dealership group, according to a press release yesterday.

Executives from BYD and Cichy-Zasada attended an opening ceremony and witnessed the first delivery of the BYD Seal to a local owner.

The Chinese NEV maker announced in May that it would gradually launch the Seal, the Dolphin, and the Seal U, known in China as the Song Plus EV, in Poland.

The three models are currently being showcased on BYD Poland's website.

In addition to the Warsaw store, BYD plans to open stores in Polish cities including Poznań, Wroclaw, Krakow and Szczecin to create a sales network covering the whole of Poland.

Up to now, BYD has offered a total of seven models in more than 20 countries in Europe.

In the future, BYD will continue to develop the European market and provide users with high-quality sustainable mobility experiences, it said.

BYD ceased production and sales of vehicles powered entirely by internal combustion engines in March 2022, switching to a focus on producing plug-in hybrids and pure electric vehicles.

The company sold 342,383 NEVs in July, up 30.60 percent from a year earlier and up 0.21 percent from June, according to figures it announced on August 1.

That included 340,799 passenger NEVs and 1,584 commercial NEVs. In July, BYD sold 30,014 NEVs in overseas markets.
