BYD has launched the Song L DM-i and the 2025 Song Plus DM-i, the second batch of DM 5.0-powered hybrid models after the Seal 06 DM-i and Qin L DM-i hybrid sedans.
The 2025 Song Plus DM-i is the sister model of the Song L DM-i with similar dimensions and the same powertrain.
The model measures 4,775 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,765 mm.

It also comes standard with an engine with a displacement of 1.5 L, and an electric motor with a maximum power of 160 kW, the same as the Song L DM-i.
The five variants of the 2025 Song Plus DM-i also feature the same battery packs as the Song L DM-i and have the same battery ranges.
It also has a 60 L fuel tank and a combined range of around 1,500 kilometers when fully fueled and charged.
The launch of the Song L DM-i and the 2025 Song Plus DM-i is expected to help gain a larger share of the domestic market where hybrid sales are growing faster than BEVs.
BYD sold 1,612,983 NEVs in the first half of the year, up 28.46 percent year-on-year, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The Song family, which sold 406,530 units in the first half of the year, was the top-selling BYD model, contributing 25.2 percent of the brand's sales.
By 2026, BYD could reach 6 million units delivered globally, including about 1.5 million in overseas markets, JPMorgan said in a July 9 research note.
