Zeekr currently has four flash stores open in Bangkok and is expected to reach 14 stores in Thailand by the end of 2024.

Zeekr (NYSE: ZK), the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, has officially entered the Thai market with the launch of the right-hand drive version of its Zeekr X compact SUV (sport utility vehicle).

Zeekr held a brand launch event in Thailand on July 11 and introduced the right-hand drive version of the Zeekr X, the EV maker said today.

Thailand is the first international market for the right-hand drive Zeekr X and marks the beginning of a new journey for the SUV model, the company said.

In the 15 months since the Zeekr X was launched, it has accumulated access to more than 20 mainstream international markets, Zeekr said.

Zeekr offers two options for the Zeekr X in Thailand, the Standard and Flagship versions, with starting prices of 1,199,000 baht ($33,180) and 1,349,000 baht, respectively.

The model is also available in China in two versions, a 4-seater and a 5-seater, both starting at RMB 200,000 ($27,520).

The Zeekr X for Thai consumers offers localized features including Thai-language navigation and vehicle controls, according to the company.

Zeekr currently has four flash stores open in Bangkok, the company said, adding that it expects to have 14 stores in Thailand by the end of 2024.

Zeekr has brought its models to Laos, the Philippines, Thailand, and the company is expected to enter Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia Myanmar, Indonesia, and Vietnam by the end of 2024, it said.

By the end of June, Zeekr had entered more than 25 mainstream international markets, and expects its international presence to grow to 50 mainstream markets by the end of the year, the company said.

Zeekr officially launched its efforts to enter international markets in 2023. It unveiled its European strategy on April 18 last year, the first day of the 2023 Shanghai auto show, and delivered the first European version of the Zeekr 001 on December 11 in the Netherlands.

On March 25, Zeekr began taking pre-orders for the Zeekr X and Zeekr 009 MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) in Thailand.

Zeekr Thailand will work with several car dealerships to expand the market, and local deliveries of right-hand drive Zeekr vehicles would begin in the third quarter, it said in March.

Zeekr would partner with local public EV charging service providers to offer charging services, the company said at the time.
