The Xpeng P7+ will be over 5 meters long and will be the first Xpeng model to use a pure vision smart driving solution similar to Tesla's.

Early yesterday morning, CnEVPost exclusively obtained a rendering of the F57 and learned that the model will not be using any LiDAR, with the smart driving system shifting to a pure vision solution similar to Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA).

The report was noticed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk who replied "..." on the X platform he owns.

The information released by Mr. He today means that the Xpeng P7+ will be over 5 meters long, larger than the P7i currently on sale, which has a length, width and height of 4,888 mm, 1,896 mm and 1,450 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,998 mm.

Bigger size usually means higher price. The Xpeng P7i currently starts at RMB 223,900 ($30,780) in China.

The latest images show that the Xpeng P7+ does not feature LiDARs near the headlights like some existing Xpeng models.

The P7+ will be the culmination of Xpeng's most advanced technology in 10 years, with the goal of ushering in a new era of intelligence for the next decade, a spokesperson told CnEVPost today.

Xpeng gave the first model in its Mona lineup, the M03, its debut on July 3, saying it will be priced under RMB 200,000, with an official launch in August.

The Xpeng brand will start delivering a new B-class all-electric sedan in the fourth quarter of this year as the first model to reach its 25 percent technology cost reduction target, the company's management said in a May 21 earnings call.

Xpeng management did not mention specifically, but it's apparently the new model internally codenamed F57.

By 2025, Xpeng plans to bring its urban smart driving experience up to the highest level of current smart driving experience on highways, meaning that it can drive hundreds of kilometers in the city before needing to be taken over once, the company's management said on the call.

The P7 series -- which includes the original P7 as well as the P7i currently on sale -- is considered the best-looking Xpeng model and was once the company's main seller.

The P7 series delivered 59,066 units in 2022, contributing 48.91 percent of Xpeng's 120,757 deliveries for the year, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

In 2023, the P7 series delivered 45,371 units, contributing 32.04 percent of Xpeng's 141,601 deliveries.

So far this year, however, the P7 series has been weak, delivering 9,110 units in the first half of the year, contributing only 17.51 percent of Xpeng deliveries of 52,028.
