Hanergy releases third model equipped with full solar-powered battery
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Hanergy Holding Group Ltd. (Hanergy) unveiled its self-developed solar-powered electric model, the Solar A at CES Asia 2018 in Shanghai, providing a new solution to battery charging for electric vehicles.
Based on the technologies and packs of soft and high-efficient Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) thin film solar cells, the Solar A can convert solar power into electric power under certain lighting conditions, and can conduct precise control and management to the car in combination with energy storage system and intelligent control system.
In order to install more GaAs solar thin films, Hanergy's engineers even deployed solar thin films under the front windshield to make full use of electric power. When the model runs on the roads, the area of solar thin films reaches 5 square meters, while the model is in static, the area can be enlarged to 7.5 square meters.
After five to six hours light exposure, the solar thin films deployed in the model can generate electric power of 8kW/h to 10kW/h. With the generated electric power, the model can run a distance of around 80km and can run more than 20,000km annually.
The Solar A boasts a unique styling with white lines stretching across the whole body, looking very fashionable and futuristic. It features a very sharp and exaggerated front end with aggressive lines. The new model measures 4326 in length, 1808 in width and 1717 in width with a curb weight of 1200kg. In addition, the new model adopts four-seat interior layout.
Powered by a 40kWh full solar-powered battery, the new model boasts a range of 420km, and can sprint from 0-100km/h in 9.5 seconds.
