BAIC BJEV second-gen electric supercar to unveil in Spain on Sept. 3
Shanghai (ZXZC)- The second-gen BAIC ArcFox-7 will be unveiled in Barcelona, Spain on Sept. 3, according to Lu Hao, vice general manager of BAIC BJEV Sales Company and general manager of ArcFox division. The new model can sprint from 0-100km/h in 2.7 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds less than that of its existing model. The second-gen ArcFox-7 will reach small-batch mass production in the future.
Powered by a pure electric powertrain which consists of a front electric motor and two rear electric motors, the existing ArcFox-7 boasts a maximum power output of 1,050Nm. With an all-wheel-drive system, the model boasts a speed up to 260km/h. Thanks to a 66kWh ternary lithium battery pack, the model's maximum range can reach 420km.
The existing ArcFox-7 measures 4,570mm in length, 2,040mm in width and 1,214mm in width, and sets on a wheelbase of 2,800mm. It is noteworthy that the model offers three driving modes (circuit, comfort and economy), delivering dynamic and comfortable driving experience on circuit and ordinary roads.
On Feb. 22, 2016, BAIC BJEV set up the fourth overseas R&D and designing center in Barcelona, Spain, after American Silicon Valley, German Aachen and American Detroit. The Barcelona center mainly takes charge of the designing and R&D for BAIC BJEV's high-performance sports cars. The ArcFox-7 is the first pure electric grand tourer designed and developed at the center.
