BYD sells record 341,658 NEVs in Jun, PHEVs hit another record high

BYD's passenger BEVs sold fewer units in June than in May, while sales of PHEVs hit their 4th consecutive record high.

Its commercial NEVs sold 1,447 units in June, up 6.32 percent from a year ago and up 8.88 percent from May.

BYD sold 145,179 units of passenger BEVs in June, up 13.25 percent year-on-year but down 0.83 percent from May.

It sold 195,032 passenger PHEVs in June, its fourth consecutive record high since March. That's up 57.93 percent year-on-year and up 5.94 percent from May.

In June, BYD sold 26,995 vehicles in overseas markets, up 156.22 percent year-on-year but down 28.01 percent from May.

BYD first released its overseas sales figures for NEVs in July 2022.

In addition to being China's largest NEV company, BYD is also China's second-largest power battery maker.

BYD's installed capacity of power and energy storage batteries amounted to about 16.101 GWh in June, up 36.26 percent year-on-year and up 13.72 percent from May.

In the second quarter, BYD sold a record 986,720 NEVs, up 40.25 percent year-on-year and up 57.56 percent from the first quarter.

Its passenger NEVs sold a record 982,747 units in the second quarter, up 40.34 percent year-on-year and up 57.39 percent from the first quarter.

Commercial NEVs sold 3,973 units in the second quarter, up 19.78 percent year-on-year and up 113.03 percent from the first quarter.

BYD's passenger BEVs sold 426,039 units in the second quarter, up 20.98 percent year-on-year and up 41.96 percent from the first quarter.

Passenger PHEVs sold 556,708 units in the second quarter, up 59.94 percent year-on-year and up 71.67 percent from the first quarter.

BYD sold 105,505 NEVs in overseas markets in the second quarter, up 196.65 percent year-on-year and up 7.77 percent from the first quarter.

BYD's power and energy storage battery installations amounted to about 42.819 GWh in the second quarter, an increase of 28.74 percent year-on-year and up 44.00 percent from the first quarter.

In the first half of 2024, BYD sold 1,612,983 units of NEVs, up 28.46 percent year-on-year.

Its passenger NEVs sold 1,607,145 units in the first half of the year, up 28.76 percent year-on-year.

Commercial NEVs sold 5,838 units in the first half, down 21.91 percent year-on-year.

BYD's passenger BEVs sold 726,153 units in the first half, up 17.73 percent year-on-year.

Passenger PHEVs sold 880,992 units in the first half, up 39.54 percent year-on-year.

BYD sold 203,404 units overseas in the first half, up 173.80 percent year-on-year.

BYD's installed base of power and energy storage batteries in the first half of the year amounted to about 72.555 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 20.42 percent.
