The Zeekr X had a record 4,714 single-month deliveries in November 2023, but the figures were below 1,000 units in each of the first five months of this year.

Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, has rolled out a revamped version of the Zeekr X city SUV (sport utility vehicle), following the launch of the last updated version earlier this year.

Zeekr launched the 2025 Zeekr X on July 1. Like its predecessor, it continues to be offered in two variants, both with a starting price of RMB 200,000 ($27,520).

While the official guide prices remain unchanged, Zeekr is offering limited-time entitlements for the Zeekr X. Customers who purchase the SUV before July 31 will receive discounts of RMB 21,000, which brings the starting prices down to RMB 179,000.

This is a common tactic used by local EV makers in the face of stiff competition, but limited-time discounts usually turn into permanent price cuts.

The Zeekr X, a compact SUV, is a niche product in the Chinese market, which prefers larger vehicles.

It is based on Geely's Sustainable Electric Architecture (SEA) and measures 4,450 mm in length, 1,836 mm in width and 1,572 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.

The model was initially launched on April 12, 2023, when it was offered in three variants, one of which started at RMB 189,800 for the five-seat rear-wheel drive version. The other two, both starting at RMB 209,800, were a five-seat four-wheel-drive version and a four-seat rear-wheel-drive version.

On January 10, Zeekr launched the 2024 Zeekr X just nine months after the model's launch, eliminating the least expensive five-seat rear-wheel-drive version and allowing the starting price of the other two to be lowered by RMB 9,800 yuan.

The latest 2025 Zeekr X features the same core specifications as the 2024 model, with its five-seat version being a dual-motor model and the four-seat version offering a single-motor and dual -motor option.

The 2025 Zeekr X's dual-motor version produces 315 kW of peak power and 543 Nm of peak torque, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.

It continues to be powered by a Li-ion ternary battery pack with a capacity of 66 kWh, offering a CLTL range of up to 560 kilometers.

Apart from the cash discounts, customers ordering the Zeekr X this month will also get benefits including a feature fund worth RMB 5,000, a refrigerator worth RMB 1,999, and a free 7-kW home charging post.

The Zeekr X had seen good sales performance last year, with single-month deliveries in November 2023 having reached a record 4,714, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

However, it has seen a big drop in sales this year, with single-month deliveries below 1,000 units in each of the first five months.

The Zeekr delivered 67,764 vehicles from January through May, with the Zeekr X contributing just 2,410, or 3.56 percent.

Zeekr delivered record 20,106 vehicles in June, up 89.32 percent year-on-year and up 8.00 percent from May, according to data released by the company yesterday.

Zeekr X sales figures for June are not yet available.
