Leap Motor, found in 2015, has so far reaped a series of achievements in both technologies and financing. For instance, the startup has successfully developed some core auto parts like the integrated electric-driven system Heracles that can be mass produced now. Besides, in December last year, the company closed a Pre-A round led by Sequoia Capital China who chose Leap Motor as the first NEV company to put an investment into. Additionally, its first production model LP-S01 has passed the national vehicle quality test and demonstrated good performance and high reliability in the vehicle test under a high-altitude and low-temperature environment of Heihe, Heilongjiang Province.
According to relevant data, by the end of 2017, the NEV parc of China had exceeded 1.6 million units which took a considerable percentage of global NEV annual sales. Meanwhile, with the rapid development of Internet technologies and the growth of users’ experience demands, the vehicle should be redefined apart from being merely a transportation tool.
