Zeekr set to deliver 200,000th Zeekr 001 on Jun 21

Cumulative deliveries of the Zeekr 001 through the end of May totaled 194,379 units, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Zeekr (NYSE: ZK), the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, will hold its 200,000th Zeekr 001 delivery ceremony on June 21, local automotive media outlet Yiche reported today.

Zeekr's official social media channels didn't announce the information, but it said on Weibo that it will be livestreaming a teardown of a Zeekr 001 with more than 320,000 kilometers on June 21.

The teardown will show how the Zeekr 001 performs in terms of acceleration, battery health, and energy consumption after intensive use, according to the company.

Originally launched on April 15, 2021, the Zeekr 001 is Zeekr's first model and deliveries begin in October 2021.

The shooting brake model has been Zeekr's main seller, delivering 76,246 units in 2023, contributing 64 percent of the 118,685 units Zeekr delivered in the year.

At the end of May this year, cumulative deliveries of the Zeekr 001 amounted to 194,379 units, contributing 73.5 percent of all Zeekr deliveries of 264,397, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Zeekr launched the 2024 Zeekr 001on February 27 this year. The updated model comes standard with an 800 V electrical system, which delivers better energy consumption and charging performance than the 400 V of its predecessor.

The updated Zeekr 001 is available in four versions, including two WE Editions, all of which currently have a starting price of RMB 269,000 ($37,054). Another ME version starts at RMB 299,000 and a YOU version starts at RMB 329,000.

In addition to the Zeekr 001, Zeekr's other models currently on sale include the Zeekr 007, Zeekr 009, and Zeekr X.

In May, Zeekr delivered 18,616 vehicles, surpassing the previous record of 16,089 vehicles in April to reach a record high

In the January-May period, Zeekr delivered 67,764 vehicles, a 111.68 percent year-on-year increase. The company is targeting to deliver 230,000 vehicles this year.

Zeekr went public on the New York Stock Exchange on May 10 and has a current market capitalization of about $5.3 billion.

Zeekr aims to become the second most profitable company among battery electric vehicle (BEV) makers after Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA), its CEO Andy An said in an interview with iFeng, in a video released yesterday.

On March 20, Geely Automobile Holdings (HKG: 0175) said in an earnings report that Zeekr is aiming to turn a profit in 2024 under Hong Kong financial reporting standards.
