Nio sees total user mileage under NOP, NOP+ cross 1 billion km
Nio unveiled NOP in September 2020 and launched the more powerful NOP+ in December 2022.
Nio (NYSE: NIO) has seen its smart driving features reach a key milestone in terms of user mileage, as it races against its local peers to develop the technology to target the next stage of competition.
Nio users have surpassed 1 billion kilometers of total pilot assisted driving milage, the most of any feature of its kind in China, the electric vehicle (EV) maker announced today on Weibo.
Nio's pilot assisted driving feature includes NOP (Navigate on Pilot) for NT 1.0 platform vehicles and NOP+ for NT 2.0 platform models.
NOP enables pilot assisted driving on highways, while NOP+ adds additional support for urban roads.
On June 4, Nio said it added 20,544 new smart driving users in May, bringing the total to 515,811 users.
That new user addition is also Nio's vehicle deliveries in May, and the total user count is its cumulative vehicle deliveries, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The total number of NOP+ users had reached 266,309, Nio said last week, implying that it had delivered 266,309 vehicles based on the NT 2.0 platform, and 249,502 NT 1.0 vehicles.
Nio unveiled NOP in September 2020, and in December 2022 launched the more powerful NOP+ with LiDAR as well as larger computing power support.
By September 2023, the total mileage of users under NOP and NOP+ reached 500 million kilometers, 1,068 days after the launch of NOP.
The mileage went from 500 million kilometers to 1 billion kilometers in just 273 days, Nio said today.
To date, users of NOP+ have accumulated 5 million hours of usage, according to the company.
