China NEV retail in Apr flat from Mar at 706,000, preliminary CPCA data show
In April, China's retail sales of all passenger vehicles stood at 1.585 million units, down 2 percent year-on-year and 6 percent lower than in March.
Retail sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in China were essentially unchanged from March, as the overall market remained weak.
In April, retail sales of passenger NEVs in China totaled 706,000 units, up 34 percent from a year ago and flat from March, according to preliminary data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
Cumulative retail sales of passenger NEVs in China so far this year totaled 2.478 million units, up 35 percent from a year earlier.
Wholesale sales of passenger NEVs in China in April were 800,000 units, up 32 percent from the same month last year, but down 1 percent from March, according to the CPCA.
So far this year, China's cumulative wholesale sales of passenger NEVs amounted to 2.751 million units, up 31 percent from a year earlier.
In April, China's retail sales of all passenger vehicles stood at 1.585 million units, down 2 percent year-on-year and 6 percent lower than in March.
This means that the penetration rate of NEVs in retail sales in China was 44.54 percent in April.
Year-to-date retail sales of all passenger vehicles in China were 6.417 million units, up 9 percent year-on-year.
In the first week of April -- April 1-6 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 34,206, down 8 percent year-on-year and down 4 percent from March.
In the second week of April -- April 7-14 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 38,825, 13 percent lower year-on-year and 3 percent lower than in March.
In the third week of April -- April 15-21 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 47,895, 13 percent lower year-on-year and 1 percent lower than in March. The figure is a slight downward revision from the 48,033 announced by the CPCA last week.
In the fourth week of April -- April 22-30 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 81,568, up 11 percent year-on-year and unchanged from March.
Wholesale sales of all passenger cars in China in April were 1,958,000 units, up 10 percent from a year earlier but 11 percent lower than the same period last month.
During April 1-6, China's average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars were 31,974 units, up 13 percent year-on-year but 10 percent lower than the previous month.
During April 7-14, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 42,822 units, up 13 percent year-on-year but down 8 percent from the previous month.
During April 15-21, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 56,581 units, up 1 percent year-on-year but down 8 percent from the previous month. The figure is a slight downward revision from the 56,765 posted by the CPCA last week.
During April 22-30, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 114,145 units, up 13 percent year-on-year but down 3 percent from the previous month.
Cumulative wholesale sales of all passenger cars in China so far this year were 7,552,000 units, up 11 percent year-on-year.
