BYD sells 313,245 NEVs in Apr, overseas sales hit record high

BYD sold 134,465 BEVs in April, down 3.89 percent from March, and 177,583 PHEVs, up 9.8 percent from March.

BYD's commercial NEVs sold 1,197 units in April, up 44.57 percent from both a year ago and March.

Among passenger NEVs, BEVs sold 134,465 units in April, up 28.84 percent year-on-year but down 3.89 percent from March.

BYD sold 177,583 units of passenger PHEVs in April, up 68.96 percent year-on-year and up 9.8 percent from March.

In April, BYD sold a record 41,011 vehicles in overseas markets, surpassing March's previous record of 38,434. That's up 176.6 percent year-on-year and 6.71 percent from March.

BYD first reported its overseas sales figures for NEVs in 2022 July.

In addition to being China's largest NEV company, BYD is also China's second-largest power battery maker.

BYD's installed base of power and energy storage batteries amounted to about 12.559 GWh in April, up 26.17 percent year-on-year and 6.78 percent from March.

In January-April, BYD sold 939,508 NEVs, up 23.24 percent year-on-year.

It sold 936,446 passenger NEVs in January-April, up 23.64 percent year-on-year, and 3,062 commercial NEVs, down 38.60 percent.
