Huawei-BAIC joint brand Stelato unveils 1st model S9 at Beijing auto show
The Stelato S9 will be another Huawei-backed flagship model after the Aito-built Aito M9, which is expected to go on sale in July-August.
The model comes with digital rear mirrors, 21-inch multi-spoke wheels and will be another flagship model backed by Huawei after the Aito-built Aito M9.
Earlier in February, BAIC BluePark said the first product from its co-brand with Huawei would be a smart sedan for the premium market, under the new brand name Stelato.
The company plans to bring the premium sedan to overseas markets in 2024 with a distribution and service network in Asia and Europe, BAIC BluePark said at the time.
The Stelato S9 will be available in a single-motor version and a dual-motor version, with Huawei as the motor supplier, according to a previous regulatory filing.
The single-motor version is powered by a motor with a maximum power of 227 kW, while the dual-motor version has an additional front motor with a maximum power of 158 kW.
The model's length, width and height are 5,160 mm, 1,987 mm and 1,486 mm, respectively, and its wheelbase is 3,050 mm, according to its filing page.
Its batteries are available in Li-ion ternary and "Li-ion ternary + lithium iron manganese phosphate" options, both from CATL.
The car's starting price is expected to be between RMB 300,000 ($41,390) and RMB 500,000, local media outlet Yicai said in a March 13 report, citing a meeting minute.
Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei's smart car solutions division, previously mentioned that the Stelato S9 will go on sale in July-August.
