BYD to debut new concept Ocean-M at Beijing auto show

BYD will debut a new concept car, the Ocean-M, at the Beijing auto show, which starts in two days, and is expected to be the design cornerstone for some of its future models.
Ocean-M, a new concept car in BYD's Ocean range, will make its world debut at the Beijing auto show, the company said today.
The Ocean-M will be based on a new all-electric platform and is the industry's first rear-wheel drive all-electric performance hatchback, according to BYD.
The company didn't reveal much more, but shared an image showing a rough outline of the concept.
BYD's teaser implies that the model is expected to have compact dimensions but will be equipped with powerful performance.
The 2024 Beijing auto show will be held from April 25-May 4, with press days from April 25-26 and public days from April 27-May 4.
BYD Auto's booth is located at W106 in Hall W1 of the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi), next to BYD's sub-brands Yangwang and Fang Cheng Bao at booths W105 and W101 respectively.
BYD Auto's model range includes the Ocean and Dynasty series, with more than 10 models currently on offer.
BYD sold 3,024,417 vehicles in 2023, including 1,596,182 for the Dynasty series and 1,279,248 for the Ocean series, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
In March, BYD sold 302,459 vehicles, with the Dynasty and Ocean series contributing 144,388 and 142,324 vehicles, respectively.
