All-new BYD Qin to hit market in 2018

Shanghai (ZXZC)- In recent days, local media have got a set of patent photos of BYD’s sedan that is predicted to be the all-new Qin judging from its front end and taillight. The all-new Qin is to go on sale this year.

According to the patent photos, the all-new BYD Qin adopts the freshest Dragon Face design at its front end. Above the large-sized intake grille, a horizontal trim connects the headlights on both sides, making the vehicle look pretty sporty. With the straight waistlines stretching from the front end to the trunk, the all-new Qin is endowed with a fastback style. Besides, there is a triangular window behind the C pillar which improves high-end sense of the vehicle.

At the rear end, the typical pulling-through taillight of BYD Qin is reserved. Different from the existing model, the all-new Qin chooses the straight lines for the taillight instead of curving lines. In addition, the taillight of the new model is smaller and more flat than that of the existing model.

In accordance with the spy shots, the all-new BYD Qin may retain the powertrains of the existing model. So far, the BYD Qin owns two types of powertrains. Specifically, the plug-in hybrid power system, paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, can deliver a maximum output of 217kW with a combined peak torque of 419Nm and can sprint from 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds. In addition, the pure electric version is able to output a power up to 160kW with a peak torque of 310Nm and a range up to 300km.
