SAIC Group February sales exceed 460,000 units
Shanghai (ZXZC)- In February, SAIC Group vehicle sales totaled 460,757 units, up 9.2 percent compared with 421,803 units of the same period last year. By the end of February, the group has delivered 1,172,909 vehicles this year, jumping 11.6 percent year on year.
All brands achieved sales growth last month except Sunwin Bus. The sales of SAIC Group Passenger Vehicle surged 42.4 percent from a year earlier and the cumulative sales of the first two months jumped 62.3 percent on an annual basis to 522,036 units.
SAIC VW, the joint venture between SAIC and VW, delivered 121,832 vehicles last month, growing 3 percent from the previous year. The cumulative sales of the joint venture in the past two months reached 335,751 units. It is reported that SAIC VW will introduce 6 new models this year to enrich its product portfolio and enhance the sales growth momentum.
Another joint venture of SAIC Group, SAIC GM, handed over 122,693 vehicles in February, jumping 13.1 percent. The total sales of the first two months this year reached 325,410 units. In order to maintain the sales momentum, GM will introduce several SUV models to the largest auto market in the world, including locally produced Cadillac XT4 and an all-new Chevrolet SUV.
With a total monthly sales volume of 155,008 units, SAIC GM Wuling achieved the most sales volume among all subsidiaries. In the first two months this year, SAIC GM Wuling handed over 355,076 vehicles, up 6.34 percent.
