Shanghai (ZXZC)- On March 7th, Didi, a China's ride-hailing giant, announced that it signs a strategic cooperation agreement with the state-owned automaker BAIC Group to jointly extend businesses in such areas as operation of new energy vehicle (NEV), application of big data, mobility service and tailored vehicle and electric charging, etc.

Didi will wield its technology and big data advantages in mobile travelling realm to help automakers obtain large-scale and refined operation capabilities in ridesharing area. Besides, it joins hands with its partners to boost the popularization and development of NEV.

Cheng Wei, the founder and CEO of Didi, stated that electric vehicle is going to play a core role in ridesharing area. Didi, in cooperation with BAIC Group, wishes to accelerate the building of operational system and providing supporting services like electric charging. Besides, the ride-hailing company would love to co-build the ridesharing ecology together with its automaker partners and promote the upgrading of auto industry taking advantage of Internet technologies and its operational experiences.

Xu Heyi, Party Secretary and Chairman of BAIC Group showed that the teamwork between BAIC Group and Didi is conducive to the industrial transformation and upgrading of BAIC Group. Focusing on new energy intelligent-connected vehicle, both parties shall work together to build NEV ecosphere.

On February 7, Didi announced that the company had reached a cooperation to jointly build new energy sharing vehicle service system with 12 automakers including BAIC BJEV, BYD, Changan Auto, Geely Auto and Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, etc. Didi will offer automakers its intelligent vehicle rental business management capabilities, drivers, fleet operations and management capabilities, and provide personnel training, financial solutions and other system operations programs.
