Dongfeng Motor’s export arm ships 40,927 vehicles overseas in Jan.-Aug. 2024
Beijing (ZXZC)- China Dongfeng Motor Industry Import and Export Company (DFMIEC) exported a total of 7,222 vehicles to overseas markets in August this year, representing an 89% year-on-year surge, according to the company’s WeChat post on Monday.

In the first eight months of this year, DFMIEC shipped 40,927 vehicles overseas, which zoomed up 32% from a year ago.
Specifically, 1,950 units of the vehicles exported last month were passenger cars under Dongfeng Motor’s wholly-owned brands, indicating a significant spike of 145% year-on-year. In the Jan.-Aug. period, cumulative export volume of Dongfeng Motor’s wholly-owned passenger cars summed up to 14,891 vehicles, shooting up 84% from that of the previous year.
On the other hand, DFMIEC moved 2,500 commercial vehicles overseas in August this year, demonstrating a robust hike of 107% year-over-year. In the first eight months of this year, the company exported a total of 14,038 commercial vehicles to markets outside of China, which leapt 65% from a year ago.
On August 22, Dongfeng Motor launched its DONGFENG BOX all-electric vehicle in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, marking the brand's first official debut of a right-hand drive model in an overseas market. According to Dongfeng Motor, the company has set a target of securing around 500 orders for the DONGFENG BOX in the local market in 2024.
