Shanghai (ZXZC)- The 2018 BYD Song hits the market recently. With seven variants, the model provides an official price range between RMB 79,900 and RMB 129,900. Compared with the 2017 model, the 2018 Song has a starting price reduction of RMB 10,000. The model adopts a newly-designed front end and newly adds a brown body color, black interior, new-styled wheel hubs and an optional dashboard camera.

The 2018 Song retains the design language of the 2017 Song, featuring a honey-comb-styled intake grille, a smooth front bumper and a simple-designed fog light area. It also features a design style of double waistlines on its body sides, blackened roof lines and outside rear view mirrors, mated with two five-spoke wheel hubs. At its rear end, it adopts one exhaust pipe on both sides.

The 2018 Song also inherits the design cues of the 2017 Song's interior. Adopting a symmetrical design style in its interior, the model boasts a three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and an 8-inch LCD center console (for part of its variants). The flying-wing-styled air conditioner vent also delivers a high recognition. Besides, it is a connected vehicle with a variety of high-tech amenities, including an open intelligent connected system, TPMS and intelligent voice control system.

Powered by a 1.5L or a 2.0L turbocharged engine, and paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automated transmission, the 2018 Song will deliver a maximum power output of 113kW and 151kW as well as a peak torque of 240Nm and 320Nm respectively.
