FAW-VW’s e-Golf, e-Bora about to hit the market

Shanghai (ZXZC)- The e-Golf and e-Bora will come to the market on October 29 according to FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. (FAW-VW), a joint venture between FAW Group and Volkswagen Group. The two models are based on the Golf Mk7 and all-new Bora respectively, both of which are built on the MQB platform. They carry the same battery electric system with a maximum power of 136hp and a peak torque of 290N.m and NEDC-rated range of 270 km. Their pre-sale prices are from 156,800 to 163,700 yuan ($2,217-23,195).

The electric Golf features the same appearance design as the imported version and the difference from the internal-combustion existing version includes cellular-typed front grilles, lights and LED taillights in a new shape. In addition, it adopts low wind-resistance rims and rolling resistance tires. It measures 4,259mm(4,267mm)long, 1,799mm wide and 1,497mm high with a wheelbase of 2,631mm.

The highlights of the e-Golf include 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel and 8-inch in-vehicle main screen. It also features speech recognition, navigation, mobile phone interconnection, vehicle status viewing, real-time traffic information.   

The e-Bora boasts denser horizontal chrome-plated trims in its front grilles compared with the gasoline-powered Bora. Besides, the design of its front bumper looks quite sporty with the Golf GTE-styled vents and C-shaped daytime lights. Same as the e-Golf, it installs low wind-resistance rims and rolling resistance tires. As to the size, it is 4,663mm(4,671mm)long, 1,815mm wide and 1,473 tall, with the wheelbase stretching for 2,680mm.
