BMW to launch 7 M Series models in China 2018

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Recently, BMW Group plans to launch 4 all-new models and 3 limited editions of M series in China this year. The all-new BMW M5 is expected to go on sale on March 22 and M4 CS will hit China's market in the second quarter.

The all-new BMW M5 has made several adjustments based on new 5 Series, including a large-size intake grille above the front bumper, aerodynamics outside rear-view mirrors, openings of front wings for heat dissipation, etc. Besides, the all-new M5 carries a carbon fiber roof which is helpful for lowering the orthocenter of the vehicle. Thanks to the utilization of lightweight materials, the curb weight of the new model amounts to 1,855kg.

The all-new M5 is equipped with a T-shape steering wheel with a button featuring user defined driving mode, an M-designed electronic gear lever and all-new highly-wrapped sport seats. Besides, the designer mounts a unique M5 nameplate in headrest as well as at the thresholds.

The all-new M5 is powered by an upgraded 4.4-litre twin turbocharged V8 engine which is able to deliver a maximum power output of 600hp as well as a peak torque of 750Nm. In addition, the new model is paired with an 8-speed AMT (automatic manual transmission). The biggest attraction is that the all-new M5 features an all-new four-wheel drive system which can deliver 3 different driving modes, rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive and all-wheel drive sport version. Powered by such powertrain, the vehicle can sprint from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds and run at a top speed of 305km/h.

In April 2017, BMW M4 CS has already been showcased at 2017 Shanghai International Automobile Exhibition. The model, positioned between the normal M4 and M4 GTS, can be taken as the non-limited edition of M4 GTS to some extent. M4 CS adopts a new design on headlights, equipped with the front lip, rear spoiler, door panels and roof made of carbon fibers.

As to the interior, M4 CS retains the design of M4 GTS. The designer chooses Alcantara materials inside the vehicle. Unlike M4 GTS, M4 CS abandons the central armrest box. No longer outfitted the roll cage that M4 GTS uses, the M4 CS saves more spaces for passengers to sit on the back seat.

Same as M4 GTS, the M4 CS is still powered by 3.0-litre 6-cylinder in-line twin turbocharged engine with a maximum power output of 460hp and paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
