Shanghai (ZXZC)- The national NEV parc reached 1.53 million by the end of 2017, taking up 0.7% of the total vehicles, according to the statistics released by the Ministry of Public Security of China. During 2017, the registered NEVs totaled 650,000 units, jumping 24.02% compared with 2016. 107 cities have started to use NEV license plates, covering 31 provinces, autonomous regions or municipalities across China.

By the end of 2017, the parc of motor vehicles achieved 310 million. Among them, vehicle parc reached 217 million, increasing 11.85% compared with 2016. Vehicles became the major part of the motor vehicles, taking up 70.17% of the total motor vehicles. Besides, qualified drivers of motor vehicles reached 385 million, among which, qualified vehicle drivers are 342 million.

In terms of the functions of vehicles, passenger vehicles parc reached 185 million. Among them, private cars totaled 170 million, accounting for 91.89% of the total passenger vehicles. Truck parc reached 23.41 million, among which, 3.1 million units were newly registered, setting a new record high.

In China, now there are 53 cities with vehicle parc exceeding 1 million and 24 cities with vehicle parc over 2 million. Moreover, China also boasts seven cities with vehicle parc of more than 3 million, including Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Shenzhen and Zhengzhou.
