The Luxeed S7, the first model from Huawei-backed electric vehicle (EV) brand Luxeed, seems to be getting good initial acceptance.

To date, the Luxeed S7 has received over 10,000 pre-orders, Luxeed announced on Weibo today.

Luxeed officially unveiled the Luxeed S7, an all-electric mid-to-large size sedan model, at a launch event on the night of November 9, with the official launch set for November 28.

Luxeed is an EV brand jointly created by Huawei and Chery, which said in August that the new brand is the electrified equivalent of BMW.

The Luxeed S7 is the first sedan to be built by Huawei with a carmaker, after it built SUVs with local carmakers, including Aito's M-series models.

The car measures 4,971 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width and 1,474 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

The Luxeed S7 is available in four variants -- Pro, Max, Max+, and Max RS -- in pre-sale with pre-sale starting prices of RMB 258,000 ($35,360), RMB 298,000, RMB 328,000, and RMB 358,000, respectively.

The Luxeed S7 is based on Huawei's "Giant Whale" 800 V high-voltage platform, and the four versions of the CLTC have a range of 550 km, 705 km, 800 km, and 630 km respectively.

The Luxeed S7 utilizes the industry's thinnest 800 V high-voltage battery pack to date, said Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei's smart vehicle solutions business unit, at the launch.

The model can get more than 200 km of range in five minutes of charging and more than 400 km in 15 minutes, Yu said.

Notably, customers who book the Luxeed S7 before its official launch on November 28 will receive RMB 40,000 worth of benefits.

Huawei has made several moves in the automotive sector recently.

On the night of November 10, Avatr Technology, an EV brand backed by Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei, officially launched its first sedan, the Avatr 12, with volume deliveries expected to begin in December.

In the first 36 hours after launch, the Avatr 12 received over 6,700 firm orders, Avatr announced yesterday on Weibo.
