Huawei, Chery's joint EV brand Luxeed unveils 1st model, goes on pre-sale with $35,420 starting price
The Luxeed S7, the first sedan jointly created by Huawei and a carmaker, will be officially launched on November 28.
The model is available in four variants -- Pro, Max, Max+, and Max RS -- in pre-sale, with pre-sale starting prices of RMB 258,000 ($35,420), RMB 298,000, RMB 328,000, and RMB 358,000, respectively.
The Luxeed S7 is based on Huawei's "Giant Whale" 800 V high-voltage platform, and the four versions have CLTC ranges of 550 km, 705 km, 800 km, and 630 km respectively.
The Luxeed S7 utilizes the industry's thinnest 800 V high-voltage battery pack to date, Yu said, and has a range of more than 200 km in five minutes of charging and more than 400 km in 15 minutes.
The Luxeed S7 is available in single-motor and dual-motor versions, the former with a maximum power of 215 kW and the latter with an additional front motor with a maximum power of 150 kW.
The supplier of the motors for the model is Huawei, and the dual-motor four-wheel drive version takes 3.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour.
With the exception of the lowest-priced version, the model is equipped with an advanced intelligent driving system and is the first to be equipped with Huawei's HarmonyOS 4 system.
The official launch of the Luxeed S7 will be on November 28, and customers who pre-order before then will receive RMB 40,000 worth of benefits.
Luxeed is Huawei's joint EV brand with Chery, which said in August that the new brand was the electrified equivalent of BMW.
The Luxeed S7 is Huawei's first sedan to be built with a carmaker, and it has previously built SUVs with local carmakers, including Aito's M-series models.
