Changjiang EV project approved by MIIT, to produce BEVs

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Included in the newly-added vehicle manufacturing companies list updated by Ministry of industry and Information Technology, Changjiang EV became the fifth auto company getting approval from MIIT to produce battery electric vehicles, after Zhidou Auto.

Currently, a total of 15 auto companies have got approval from NDRC to obtain NEV production certificates. However, only those companies being included in the list released by MIIT could officially obtain NEV production certificates. Till now, only five companies are included in the list, including BAIC BJEV, Yudo Auto, JMEV, Zhidou Auto and Changjiang EV.

Obtaining approval from NDRC on the new energy passenger vehicle project with an annual capacity of 50,000 units on May 17th, 2016, Changjiang EV became the first non-traditional auto manufacturer to get auto production certificate, which encourages more similar companies with innovative abilities to engage in R&D of NEVs.

Currently, Changjiang EV has established domestic production bases in Hangzhou, Kunming and Guizhou, as well as overseas production base in USA. Besides, R&D centers are built in Beijing and Shanghai, and auto power battery production bases are built in Tianjin and Liaoning. Battery material production base is also built in Chongqing.

It should also be mentioned that Chen Guozhang, former Vice President of PSA Group, joined in Changjiang EV this year, followed by Tong Zhiyuan, former Volvo China CEO.
