Beijing (ZXZC)- In August 2024, Chery Holding sold 211,879 vehicles, marking a 23.7% year-over-year increase, the automaker announced on September 2.

In the past month, Chery Holding’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sales surged to 46,526 units, representing a 158.5% soar compared to the previous year, while exports reached 97,866 units, up 12.7% year over year.

From January to August this year, Chery Holding’s cumulative vehicle sales totaled 1,508,259 units, representing a 41.9% surge from the same period last year. In the domestic market, Chery sold 787,954 vehicles, leaping 61.57% year on year, while overseas exports stood at 720,305 units, jumping 25.2% from a year ago.

In the first eight months of this year, Chery sold 1,235,412 oil-fueled vehicles, reflecting a 27.6% increase year-over-year. Meanwhile, its NEV sales reached 272,847 units in the period, shooting up 187% from the previous year.

Breaking down the performance by brand, Chery’s four main passenger vehicle brands showed strong growth.

The Chery brand sold 131,734 vehicles in August this year, with cumulative sales amounting to 961,624 units from January to August, which surged 34.8% year over year.

The EXEED brand recorded sales of 11,339 vehicles in August, with a total of 80,229 vehicles sold in the first eight months of this year, which indicated a 22% year-on-year growth.

The JETOUR brand achieved sales of 51,785 vehicles in August, resulting in year-to-date sales of 316,446 vehicles, which reflected a 95.5% year-over-year spike. Notably, the brand’s sales volume in the first eight months of 2024 has already surpassed its total sales for the entire year of 2023.

The automaker’s new energy vehicle brand iCAR saw its first production model go on sale six months ago. The model realized monthly sales of  5,967 units in August, with a total of 37,681 units sold so far this year.
