Luxeed S7 sedan jointly built by Huawei and Chery to be launched in Nov
The Luxeed S7 will be the first sedan jointly built by Huawei and an automaker and will surpass the Tesla Model S in every specification, a Huawei executive said.
The Luxeed S7 measures 4,971 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width and 1,474 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm, its filing showed.
For comparison, the Tesla Model S has a length, width and height of 4,979 mm, 1,964 mm, 1,445 mm and a wheelbase of 2,960 mm.
Pricing information for the Luxeed S7 is unknown. The Tesla Model S now has a starting price of 698,900 Chinese yuan ($95,600) after several price cuts.
The Luxeed S7 will be available in single and dual-motor versions, both with Huawei as the motor supplier, and supports a top speed of 210 km/h, according to its previous filing.
Its single-motor model comes with an electric motor with a maximum power of 215 kW, and the dual-motor version comes with an additional motor with a maximum power of 150 kW.
On August 7, Yu shared an image on Weibo of the model with the word "LUXEED" emblazoned across the front.
Yu said at the time that the model would be the first all-electric coupe from Huawei's Zhixuan automotive business, and the first to come with the HarmonyOS 4 operating system.
Luxeed has already started previewing the S7, sharing several images of the model today, according to several car bloggers.
