So far this year, China's retail sales of passenger NEVs were 4,756,000 units, up 36 percent year-on-year.

From September 1 to September 17, wholesale sales of passenger NEVs in China were 346,000 units, up 22 percent year-on-year and up 15 percent from the same period in August, according to the CPCA.

So far this year, China's wholesale sales of passenger NEVs stood at 5.426 million units, up 37 percent year-on-year.

Between September 1 and September 17, retail sales of all passenger cars in China were 804,000 units, up 10 percent compared with the same period last year and up 2 percent from the same period last month, the CPCA said.

So far this year, retail sales of passenger cars in China were up 2 percent year-on-year at 14.017 million units.

This means that between September 1 and September 17, China's penetration of NEVs at retail was 38.9 percent, and 33.93 percent so far this year.

From September 1 to September 10, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 43,885 units, up 14 percent from the same period last year and unchanged from the same period last month, according to the CPCA.

From September 11 to September 17, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 52,228 units, up 6 percent from the same period last year and up 3 percent from the same period last month.

Recently China has provided greater stimulus to the real estate sector, leading many to worry that the auto market might take a hit, the CPCA noted.

However, the Chinese auto market in early September is generally performing reasonably well, essentially unchanged from the same period in August, without much pressure, the CPCA said.

With China's National Day holiday just around the corner, traveling is expected to boost demand for cars among Chinese residents, the CPCA said.
