Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, saw cumulative vehicle deliveries exceed 150,000 units, about 2 years after its first vehicle delivery.

Zeekr announced the milestone on Weibo today, saying it is the only brand in the world so far that has not had a vehicle spontaneously combust.

The milestone means that Zeekr has delivered more than 5,077 vehicles so far this month, considering its cumulative deliveries through the end of August stood at 144,923, data monitored by CnEVPost show.

To date, Zeekr has delivered more than 72,052 vehicles cumulatively so far this year, surpassing last year's total of 71,941 vehicles. Zeekr is aiming to double its deliveries this year compared to last year to about 140,000 vehicles.

Zeekr was officially launched as an independent company in March 2021, and it is currently delivering three models -- Zeekr 001 shooting brake, Zeekr X SUV, and Zeekr 009 MPV.

Zeekr 001 was launched on April 15, 2021 and its delivery started in October 2021. Zeekr 009 was released on November 1, 2022 and its delivery started on January 15. Zeekr X was released on April 12, and its deliveries began on June 12.

Between September 1 and September 10, there were 2,900 insurance registrations of Zeekr vehicles in China, according to figures shared by Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) on Tuesday.

On August 11, Zeekr announced that customers who buy a Zeekr 001 during the year would receive a discount of between RMB 30,000 ($4,135) and RMB 37,000.

On September 1, Zeekr unveiled the Zeekr 001 FR, an electric supercar, and began accepting reservations.

The Zeekr 001 FR is expected to be priced at more than RMB 1 million and deliveries will begin in October 2023 with a limited production of 99 units per month.

Zeekr delivered 12,303 vehicles in August, a new record high, up 71.69 percent year-on-year and up 2.19 percent from July, according to data released earlier this month.

This is the seventh consecutive increase in monthly deliveries for Zeekr, bringing January-August deliveries to 66,975 vehicles, up 114.68 percent year-on-year.
