The new EC6 show cars have already arrived at Nio's showrooms and test drives will kick off on September 15.

The pre-order deposit for the new EC6 is RMB 5,000 (680), and customers who initially book will receive Nio Credits worth RMB 1,000 upon locking in their order.

The pre-order channel for the model will end at the start of order lock-ins, it said.

Nio has yet to release specifications and pricing information for the new EC6. The company said earlier today that it will hold an event to launch the new EC6 on September 15, starting at 8 pm Beijing time.

Nio currently sells the ES8, ES6, ES7, ET5, ET7, EC7, ET5 Touring, all based on the latest NT 2.0 platform.

The EC6 is the only remaining piece of the puzzle as the company switches models from the older NT 1.0 platform to the NT 2.0 platform this year.

In February, the new EC6 entered a regulatory filing catalog released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), revealing the model's core specifications.

The new EC6 uses the same LiDAR and camera setup on the roof as the rest of the NT 2.0-based models, and the front and taillight design are similar to the rest of Nio's latest models.

The new EC6 measures 4,849 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, 1,697 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,915 mm, according to the regulatory filing.

The new EC6 is powered by dual electric motors manufactured by Nio's electric drive systems division in Hefei, Anhui province, with maximum power of 150 kW and 210 kW, respectively, and can support a top speed of 200 km/h.

The powertrain's specifications are the same as those of the new ES6, ET5, and ET5 Touring, and Nio's more expensive ES8, ES7, and EC7 all feature more powerful motors, with the front motor maxing out at 180 kW and the rear motor at 300 kW.
