Nio (NYSE: NIO) announced earlier today that it will launch the new EC6 on September 15, and show cars of the coupe SUV are already available in stores.

CnEVPost went to a Nio House in Pudong, Shanghai to check out the model, and this post will share some images of the new EC6.

The launch event of the new EC6 will begin at 8 pm Beijing time on September 15, and test drives of the model will be available on September 15, Nio said earlier today.

Chinese customers can now start reserving the new EC6 by paying a deposit of 5,000 yuan (680), giving them access to limited-time pre-sale entitlements, although pricing and detailed specs for the model are unknown.

The Nio House visited by CnEVPost is one of Nio's relatively small ones, and despite its small size, it showcased all eight of the company's models based on the latest NT 2.0 platform.

The launch of the first-generation EC6, based on the NT 1.0 platform, took place on December 28, 2019, with first deliveries in September 2020. The model is the only one from Nio that has yet to complete the transition to the NT 2.0 platform.

Nio has placed the new EC6 in the most prominent position at the entrance to the Nio House we visited.

Like Nio's other NT 2.0-based models, the new EC6 has been updated with Nio's latest design language, particularly the LiDAR setup on the roof and the front and rear of the car.

Nio said earlier today that the new EC6 will be delivered from September 16, broadly in line with customer order lock-in times.

Nio's eight products will target the premium electric vehicle (EV) market to meet the diversified needs of customers in the premium segment and drive steady growth in overall deliveries, the company's management said in an analyst call on August 29 after announcing its second-quarter results.

Without further ado, here are more pictures of the new EC6 taken by CnEVPost.
